List of persons

List of persons is shown when the corresponding item is selected in the "View" menu.

Besides its obvious function, List of persons also displays the result of a search, and displays the members of a family (the Members... button in the List of families). List of persons can be found in the View menu.

Persons are shown in the List in the following format:
N) Surname, first name (dates of lifespan),
where N is the next consecutive number.

In the upper part of the window there is Quick search field. Enter the first letters of a surname in this field. The person with a surname that begins with those letters will be automatically selected in the list.

Double click on a name in the list to select that person in the tree. This will also move the tree so that the selected person is shown in the middle of the display of the tree. If the Information window is currently open, it will show the selected person's info.

On the lower panel:

Button "Select:" selects and shows the information for a person in exactly the same way as double-clicking that person's name on the list.
Button "Families..." shows the List of all the families of which the selected person is a member. The first families in the list are the families in which the person is a spouse, followed by any families where he/she is a child.
Button "Info" shows the person's information in the Information window.
Button "Pedigree" opens a special window showing the pedigree of the given person. See Pedigree Window
Button "Edit" opens the person's data for editing in the Record Editor.
Button "Delete" removes the person, but first warning about the removal.

The switch "Always on top": if this is checked, the List of persons will always remain on top (i.e. in front) of other windows.
